The Secaucus Fire Department is actively seeking dedicated volunteer members who want to make a real impact in the community. No prior firefighting experience is required — we provide the training, equipment, and support you need to succeed.

The Secaucus Fire Department has proudly served the community since 1891 as a completely volunteer organization. From the Chief of Department down to our newest recruit, every member serves voluntarily out of dedication to protecting the residents and businesses of Secaucus.

While there are opportunities for financial compensation through department activities and call response incentives, applicants should understand that the Secaucus Fire Department is not a career fire department. Members volunteer their time to serve the community, train together, and support one another as part of a proud tradition of public service.

Professional Firefighter Training

Members receive certified firefighter training through a State Fire Academy, including Firefighter I and ongoing instruction in:
